The Foundation and its Futures Program Sponsors are pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for residents, fellows and advanced practitioners who are interested in a career in post-acute and long-term-care medicine: the Futures Program. A recent graduate noted:

The Futures Program was an outstanding educational experience - I was able to meet peers from around the nation and share our goals and philosophies. The lectures gave us a solid framework for understanding what it takes to become a medical director. The Futures Program is fundamental for anyone planning a career in post-acute & long-term care medicine.

Held during AMDA's annual symposium each year, this intensive learning experience is designed to expose participants to the numerous career opportunities available in post-acute & long-term care medicine. All participants who are chosen for this program will receive the following benefits:

  • Admission to the Futures Program on March 16, 2017;
  • 3-Day registration to AMDA-The Society for Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine Annual Conference 2017, in Phoenix, AZ;
  • One year of AMDA membership (now includes FREE webinars); and
  • Access to a program dedicated to professional development, Futures participants will receive additional benefits each year when they renew their AMDA membership.

    Participants will also enjoy:

    • Year 1: Complimentary Society membership, now including FREE webinars.
    • Year 2: Access to the Society's online ProLibrary
    • Year 3: 25% off their annual conference registration
    • Year 4: 30% off the Core Curriculum registration
    • Year 5: 30% off a full set of CPGs or Medication Management book, both popular resources.

In addition to the benefits listed above, participants who are granted a full award will also receive:

  • Transportation to and from the meeting in accordance with AMDA Foundation travel policies; and
  • Four nights lodging from March 15-19, 2017 (to be shared with one Futures Program participant)

Due to funding constraints there are a very limited number of full awards available. Many fellowship and/or residency programs will pay for travel/lodging to one professional conference per year. Talk with your program director and let them know that this is THE Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine program to attend in 2017! The online application deadline for the 2017 program is November 14, 2016.
